We carried this book all over DC. The information was accurate and up-to- date. The recommendations were helpful. The book was well organized, and the information was easy to access. The map is OK, but we also purchased another map to have with us. I would recommend this book over the Unofficial Guide to Washington DC.

If you need to locate a remote village or river anywhere in Alaska this will do it. Great detail, clear and well organized to find places quickly. To big for travel but great for the office.

Generally speaking Streetwise products are amongst my top recommendations for the tourist or newcomer to a city. Like others, this one provides good details about the location of key landmarks, is easy to read, and holds up under exposure to the elements.

However, for reasons unknown, the orientation of the map is off by 90 degrees, putting the lake (which is on the east) in what would typically be the "north" side of the map. For someone who has a natural feel for where "north" is at any time, and has been using normal maps for multiple decades, this makes orienting oneself unnecessarily difficult. This was obviously a carefully researched, well-written book, with great photos. But I was disappointed that there was so little focus on maps. Rather than showing a detailed maps of a recommended route, the author chose to write a verbal description of a recommended route. That's sufficient if you wish to follow the author's route exactly. But if you would rather create your own route with some guidance from the book, it's virtually impossible.

This atlas has nice size easy to read maps, helpful city map inserts, spiral binding for ease of keeping a page open. Recommend it highly.

I've read this book a few times through, and I can't help but come back to it often. If you want a no-fluff read, where you can quickly jump from location to location, this is the book you've been looking for.

We have found this particular map to be extremely helpful on trips. Our last one was several years old but wanted an updated version. You can't go wrong with this map put out by American over others published by different companies. This is the best!

I found this book very useful and helpful with my planning of a trip to Savannah in the near future. I enjoyed getting some "heads up" on various locales (and restrictions) having to do with the John Berendt novel "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"...which is of particular interest to me. Also appreciated the price guides for restaurants, and the hotel reviews, which included if the rooms were smoking, restricted smoking, or non-smoking. Will be packing this little book with me when I do go on my "dream trip" to the coast of Georgia!

This series belongs in the library of every nature photographer traveling to the Southwest. My one complaint with the first edition was that it was so comprehensive as to be difficult to pick the great from the meerly good sites. The second edition offers a solution to this problem by having a comprehensive table in the back of the book rating every site for natural beauty and photographic value on a scale of 1-5. So with just a quick glance You can identify all the 5 star places and research them. Then all he 4 star sites and research them, and so on. In the same table he gives lots of practical information like road conditions. The color photographs are also a big improvement over the black and white in the first editions.
