My husband and I went to New York for Labor Day Weekend and took this book with us everywhere we went. It had helpful information about restaurants and handy subway maps.

Its only problem is its size. It's a little big. You couldn't put it in your pocket, but it fits all right into a large-ish purse.

I am not an accomplished reader so it has to really hold my attention to finish a book. This book is written exactly from L&C's journals. Lots of mispelled words and some confusion. Sometimes hard to follow. Sometimes the minute details are a bit much. They don't really expound on things. I guess what they go through on a day to day basis is somewhat mundane at times. Overall a decent read IMO...I wouldn't get it again if I knew what I know now. Oh well. Enjoy!

I read about this book on Jen Lancaster's site and picked it up! It was a fun read with lots of laugh out loud moments! Our bookclub has added it on as an 'honors' read for the month of October. (meaning in addition to the original pick!) So far I have heard great feed back about it.
The book even helped me to avoid a speeding ticket! I was driving along at a pretty good clip, not reading mind you, when I passed a Prevost bus conversion on the highway. I had to slow down to check it out and just then came around a corner to see a nice highway patrol with radar pointed right at me!
The book is a fun read and I highly recommend it!

My 6 year old boy initial reaction to going to Disney World was not as enthusiastic as one would expect. being a Disney fan myself i was highly disappointed until I realized that his reaction was due to the fact that he had a blurred idea of what there is in this World. i purchased this book and read a few pages everyday to explain what he is going to see and ride. The way it is set up is very understandable to kids. Now he cannot wait to go!!!!

I'm a big fan of this series and have their Maui and Big Island guides on my shelf. I love Hawaii because it's a place where I can totally relax without having to think about my passport getting lost or communicating in another language. This guide for Kauai is so straighforward and not only contains descriptions of all the beaches and trails but talks about the island's history and that's what was so interesting.

When I arrive I always head for the beach first and starting in the Poipu area was my first choice. Shipwreck Beach was the perfect day one place to recuperate from jetlag.

For plenty of reliable advice and outsanding presentation and pictures, these trailblazers are right on.

I love the Zagat guides for the dining recommendations, helpful information and the varied opinions of "the people". Helpful in making an educated decision as to where to dine.

I bought this book in the eighties and found it helpful on some road trips. This newer version has little more. Some of these restaurants are no longer good and there are far better ones in an area. The concept is good, but I don't think the Sterns go back to these places to reevaluate and quite frankly I don't think they have added much that's new.
